Introduction

Absolute Omega contains high levels of the two fatty acids found in fish oil that are important to health: EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These fatty acids are necessary for all cells to work properly and are essential for the function, growth and development of many body systems including the brain, eyes and heart.

EPA and DHA have an anti-inflammatory action, helping to reduce pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. They help to assist normal heart and cardiovascular function by helping to maintain the flexibility of blood vessels, promoting healthy blood flow and supporting healthy blood fat (triglyceride) levels.

Under stringent manufacturing and purity regulations we have produced this highly concentrated, high quality fish oil product—Absolute Omega. We recommend Absolute Omega as part of everyone’s daily supplement plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have heard there are risks of heavy metal contamination with fish oils. How can I be sure that Absolute Omega is free of these toxins?

Heavy metals, such as mercury, are concentrated in larger predatory fish, such as swordfish and shark. Exposure of mercury by humans is through the consumption of these fish. However, fish oil contains negligible levels of mercury because mercury is water-soluble and protein bound. This means mercury concentrates in the flesh and watery parts of the fish, not the oil.17

To provide further reassurance Absolute Omega is sourced from small fish such as anchovy, sardines, and mackerel from clean oceans. All batches of Absolute Omega are tested against the highest standards in the world for freshness, heavy metals and pesticide residues. No batch is released without complying or exceeding these purity standards.

With Absolute Omega you are assured purity and quality.

I always get a ‘fishy aftertaste’ with fish oils. Will Absolute Omega do the same thing?

No, Absolute Omega has a coating on the outside of the capsule called an ‘enteric coating’. This vanillin flavoured coating prevents the release of the fish oil from the capsule until it has reached your small intestine, bypassing your stomach. This means it reduces the risk of reflux and that ‘fishy aftertaste’. The enteric coating also keeps the fish oil in the capsule fresher for longer.

With Absolute Omega you can say goodbye to a ‘fishy aftertaste’.

Did You Know?

  1. In the early 1970s research began into the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids. The Greenland Eskimos, who eat large amounts of oily fish, inspired this research. Since then there have been more than 7000 studies, including 900 human clinical trials, conducted on fish oil and omega-3 fatty acids.
  2. Our bodies can make omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil from an essential fatty acid called linolenic acid. Flaxseeds (linseeds), walnuts and leafy green vegetables are sources of linolenic acid. However, the body’s conversion from linolenic acid to the fatty acids found in fish oil (EPA and DHA) is very slow and inefficient. Taking fish oil provides a direct supply of EPA and DHA to the body, without any need for conversion.
