Introduction
Arthritis is characterised by joint inflammation and cartilage tissue breakdown. Osteoarthritis is caused by the degeneration of cartilage. Cartilage has a gel-like nature and protects the ends of the joints in the body by acting as a shock absorber. Without cartilage in the joint, bone literally rubs against bone leading to inflammation, pain, deformity, and limitation of movement in the joint.
Glucosamine sulfate provides nutritional support for the metabolism and repair of joints and cartilage.
Chondroitin sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan which is a fundamental component of cartilage and other connective tissue.
MSM is a natural source of sulfur which has many structural and functional roles in the body. It is required for healthy development and maintenance of connective tissue and is a component of the antioxidant compounds N-acetylcysteine and glutathione.
Vitamin C and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and zinc provide additional nutritional support for healthy connective tissue and bone mineralisation.
